Every day, members help to prepare a nutritious family-style meal while learning cooking and safety skills. This assists in maintaining stable mental health and independent living.
Once a month, Shirley, a dietician from the Michigan State University Extension Office, comes to the center to teach healthy eating and snacking. Her main focus is improving the diets of members with medical conditions, such as diabetes and high blood pressure.

The Store
Located in the front of the Drop-In Center, “Wishes and Horses” is a resale variety store run by the Empowerment Network members. The store provides our members with skills for outside employment as well as giving our members the opportunity to interact with the community at large.
We are always looking for donated items to be sold in our resale store. We will accept anything but large furniture items or old electronics. Please no items that have rips, stains, or are in need of repair. The proceeds from these sales go directly into the Empowerment Network budget for operations and activities. The Empowerment Network Drop-In Center is a non-profit entity.
